(I did this interview a while back with Abby DePhillips for a school assignment, which is why it's focused on her life, rather than fashion. The next interviews will be more fashion focused!)

When was the moment you decided you wanted to work behind the scenes, instead of being a performer?

I was working on the first Broadway Princess Party, and found myself having no desire to be onstage for the first time ever. I always thought the role I wanted to play in the industry was a performer, so it was definitely a weird and kind of immediate shift. It just hit me that I was supposed to be helping create magic for others to enjoy instead of wanting to perform.

How would you define your job?

I've gotten to do lots of fun things, so it depends on which job we're defining! Producer, social media manager, social coordinator, creative consultant... I've been so lucky that I've gotten to wear lots of hats.

What is your philosophy towards your work?

Work never really feels like work to me because it's never lost on me that I'm getting to do something that my middle school or high school self could never have dreamed of. I love what I get to do. Work is tough sometimes but when it's what you always wanted, it makes it easier to put on your big girl pants and get the job done.

What advice would you give to someone looking to work in the industry?

Volunteer for everything! Offer to help when there's a project that excites you! That's what I always did, and those people I did coffee runs for have hired me or recommended me for jobs. It really does pay off to just be in the room.

What inspires you the most?

Young people who are exactly where I was wanting to be where I am now. It's so crazy to me when someone is like, "I want to be where you are!" And I'm like, But she's literally where I was four years ago! It's coming! Be patient! It's so full-circle. I feel like I have full-circle moments every single day and it inspires me so much to keep moving when I'm constantly reminded that what I always dreamed of is what I have now.
